Coaching

Meet Brian

Brian Lee is a pastor, coach, and speaker. As a survivor of spiritual abuse and religious trauma, he has spent his time since leaving vocational ministry in 2021 working to provide recovery and resources for fellow victims and survivors.

He has worked with individuals, churches, teams, and denominational groups. He offers coaching in areas of recovery and healing from spiritual abuse, deconstruction and reconstruction, discerning how to stay or leave an organization, and more. He has also led team workshops, seminars, and trainings, and has facilitated mediations.

He is a certified Trauma-Informed Coach (Centre for Healing) and is in the process of completing the Religious Trauma Certification (Global Center for Religious Research).

What is coaching?

Coaching is not therapy or counseling. While those help you to revisit your past and provide you with tools to process them in the present, coaching provides you with tools to move forward into the future. Therapy often works to help you look at how your past informs your present. Coaching takes a look at where you are now, helps set goals for where you want to be, and provides you with the resources to get there.

By integrating an understanding and awareness of your self, your story, and your identity, we will work together to chart a clear path forward to overcome the hurdles you face. Using a trauma-informed approach, we will work together to name your experiences, offer tools for self-regulation, and practice new resources for you to take your next steps toward healing and wholeness.

When I first reached out to Brian about some coaching sessions, I was not sure what I was looking for. All I knew was I wanted to understand how I could have possibly ended up in the abusive relationship that I was slowly recovering from. What I found was a kind, empathetic, listening ear that reminded me of the essential place I hold in my own story – the story that my loving Creator has been writing for me, and walking with me through, all along. Thanks, Brian, for reminding me who and whose I am.
